Brief Introduction
China National Group Corp. of Traditional & Herbal Medicine

China National Group Corporation of Traditional & Herbal Medicine (hereinafter referred to as SINO-TCM), was founded in 1955, with a history about 50 years. At the beginning, the corporation was authorized by the Chinese government to supervise and manage production, supply and distribution of traditional Chinese Medicines in the whole country. From 1990’s, the main function of SINO-TCM shifted towards industry and business. Taking the advantages of head status, smooth channel and the advanced technology, SINO-TCM has grown into a big State-Owned Company with the combination of R&D, production and business. In 2003, SINO-TCM was merged into China National Pharmaceutical Group Corporation by the approval of State-Owned Assets Administration.

Now SINO-TCM owns 5 wholly-owned companies, 11 holding companies and 8 joint-investing companies, with total capital RMB1.2 billion. The sales in 2004 reached to more than RMB1000 million.

SINO-TCM’s main business is development, purchase, sales and import/export of traditional Chinese medicinal materials (including imported medicinal materials), TCM decoction pieces, TCM finished products, western medicine, chemical raw materials, biochemical products, antibiotics, biological products. As the sole franchisee of artificial musk in China, it has also built 26 GAP TCM plantation bases for yellow-corktree bark, eucommia, Magnolia bark, nogoginseng, Chuanxiong, monkshood, licorice, and ginseng, which has contributed to the improvement of TCM’s quality.

SINO-TCM takes “care for life, attend to health” as it's corporate concept, “protect and develop Chinese medicine resources, promote the essence of traditional Chinese medicine” as its mission. In the future, SINO-TCM will devote its strength to develop traditional Chinese medicines into vital new industry and satisfy the increasing demand of traditional Chinese medicines.
